I did not realize just how much of an amazing experience having a homebirth was until Erin delivered our son Simon Matthew last November 26th. It was a smooth happy event, in which my 7 year old son was also able to participate by cutting the umbilical chord. My 5 year old had fallen asleep, but met her brother first thing the next morning. I labored calmly for about 5 ½ hours and then gave birth while kneeling in bathroom. My pain was well-managed by my Bradley training and by gentle reminders from Erin and my birthing assistant, Audrey. A very healthy and chubby baby emerged. He was our third baby and we were so relieved, excited, and proud to welcome to him to our world, without having to leave our bedroom. It was so nice to snuggle with our whole family in our king-sized bed the following morning. I would relive the night of my son’s birth many many more times. Simon is now 9 months and continuing to do very well!
