Katie McDevitt, CNM

Katie lives in Capitol Hill with her husband, Kevin, two wonderful children, Liam and Rosemary, two dogs, ZsaZsa and Zolt, and cat, Carmel.

Katie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.  She is the youngest of four.  She attended Boston College and received her BA in Philosophy.  After graduating, she returned to San Francisco, to work in the solar industry and complete her prerequisites for nursing school.  She met her husband, who is active duty in the US Coast Guard, wile he was stationed in Alameda.  At the next duty station in South Carolina, she received her BSN from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2014. In 2015, they transferred to Washington, DC.  She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Providence Hospital while in school.  She completed her graduate nursing degree at Georgetown University in Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in August 2017.

Katie has always had a passion for working with women and their families.  The midwifery care that she received during her pregnancy with her first child while in nursing school motivated her to purse a graduate degree in midwifery.  She continues to advocate for women and her families through her work with American College of Nurse-Midwives.

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, running, yoga, and hiking.  She looks forward to working with you!
